Description and Review
East Fork truely is the crown jewel of Cincinnati area trails. ~7 miles of singletrack trails are here, ranging from beginner friendly buff trail up to a technical rocky creek crossing and switchback. The trail was built using 100% IMBA standards for sustainability and environmental impact.
The south loop is the more beginner friendly trail with little elevation change and few technical features. It is more tight and twisty than the other two loops and does have numerous small bridges to build your confidance. There are even a few log piles to ride over. This trail is 2.1 miles of singletrack which can be ridden as an "out and back" or use the park road to loop it. The middle loop will bring out your inner speed demon. It has been called the fastest singletrack in Ohio. There are big sweeping banked turns, full blown staight-a-ways, and some greta flow here. The middle loop is also home to a number of man made features: 2 teeter totters, an A frame skinny, an elevated board walk, and a wooden banked turn. The middle loop is ~3.2 miles of 100% singletrack.
The north trail is the most technical and advanced. It is ridable for most but the beginner may find themselves walking a few areas. This section of trail is ~2.5 miles and should be ridden as an out and back. There is more climbing than the other two trails combined and a dry creek bed crossing made of flat rock. This trail flows as well as the middle loop but has many more roots, climbs, and rocks to challenge even the best riders.
East Fork offers something for every rider and no one will ever be bored on any of the trails. The best route is to start at the gravel parking lot in the center of the system and ride the park road to the south loop singletrack entrance. Then ride all 7 miles to the Deer Run picnic area, turn around and ride all back! This 14 miles will leave you smiling and wanting more if your legs can handle it.
