Rider Rating

Alum Creek Phase 1 is considered intermediate skill level difficulty. There are many bridges but all are at minimum two feet wide. Terrain is mostly flat to rolling small hills, numerous roots populate the tread.

Phase 1 also has a 0.7 mile beginner loop located across the street from the parking lot. It has three bridges, all are close to the ground and very wide.

Located just inside the beginner loop is a mountain bike skills park to practice balance and obstacle challanges found on most mountian bike trails.

Alum Creek State Park has a high clay soil composition that retains rain water much longer than other mountain bike trails. Trail closures after a rainfall is common practice and there is a $100 fine for riding closed trails in Alum Creek.
