mountain bike clubs and organizations throughout Ohio. We are dedicated to
preserving the future of mountain biking in Ohio through the promotion of
responsible riding, establishment and maintenance of mountain biking trails, and
through developing partnerships with land managers and other trail user groups.

Learn trail design and construction techniques from IMBA
The International Mountain Bicycling Association's (IMBA) Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew will be at the Big Valley Race Weekend (located in Peninsula, about 45 minutes south of Cleveland), September 5th and 6th to talk trails, teach people proper trail building technique, and spend quality time digging in the dirt. The visit is one of 70 stops on the 2008 schedule. Everyone is invited to attend the weekend's events and everything is FREE (including food!).

State Recreational Trails Advisory Board Recap
I just spent the day down in Columbus at Ohio Department of Natural Resources' headquarters for the annual State Recreational Trails Advisory Board meeting. Sounds boring, right? Not really, if you're an advocacy nerd like I am. For me, it was actually very interesting.
The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) provides funds to the States to develop and maintain recreational trails and trail-related facilities for both nonmotorized and motorized recreational trail uses. Announcing the new OMBA trail guide!
OMBA has created an all-new trail guide that contains information on just about every mountain bike trail in Ohio. Information included in the trail guide includes trail conditions, location, description, and more! And best of all, it uses Wiki technology so anyone can help make it better. Just sign in with the same username and password you use on the OMBA forum to get started. If you don't have an account, you can create one.
